On 25 June 2007, it will be exactly 60 years since Anne Frank’s diary was published for the first time. The Netherlands Institute for War Documentation and the Anne Frank House, together with the Anne Frank-Fonds Basel and publishing house Prometheus/Bert Bakker, are taking this opportunity to organize a symposium in which the importance of the diary will be discussed from various viewpoints. The lectures and discussions will be held in Dutch.

Among the speakers are Prof. Lisa Kuitert, professor of book studies; Ir. Huub Hardy, lecturer in Forensic Science at the Universiteit van Amsterdam (University of Amsterdam); Dr. Wichert ten Have, director of the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and Arjan Peters, literary critic. Following this, there will be a forum discussion lead by Hanneke Groenteman.
