On a warm August day in 1944, the thing everyone has been afraid of for so long finally happens: they’re discovered and arrested.

It is August 4, 1944, a lovely sunny day. An anonymous tip arrives that morning by telphone at the headquarters of the Sicherheitsdienst (SD or Security Police). The SD-officer in charge, Julius Deetman, takes the call and orders the officer on duty SS-Oberscharführer Karl Silberbauer to the Prinsengracht. Four Dutch Nazis go with him to assist. More

Sent to jail

The people in hiding and the two male helpers are arrested and taken for interrogation to a jail run by the Germans. The two helpers are later transferred to a the city prison. Miep Gies and Bep Voskuijl are left behind on the Prinsengracht. They rescue Anne Frank's diary papers.

This is SICKENING!!!!! I can't belive a person coul be so horroific!!!! When I read this I crie for 2 hours. I can't belive such an innocent young girl with a bright future was killed just because she was jewish!
