Anne Frank is Awesome

jose, 13 - lubbock - United States - 30 Oct 2012

While on holiday, I visited the Anne Frank house, it was moving. I had never read her book so I bought it & read it when I returned home. It was such an eye opener, I have learnt so much. Anne was an incredible young girl. Her diary has really touched me & reminds me to be optimistic & greatful for all the pleasures in life & also makes you think about what is really important in life.

I read Anne frank when I was 12 years old! The book has always been an inspiration as a young girl who was brave, feisty, resilient and just wanted to live life to the fullest. That's me as a free spirited creature. I have always been interested in the struggle the Jews had with the war and the prejudice they suffer even today is something that we need to examine within us and fight for in the war against discrimination.

I have been moved by a little girl, in a colossal war. Part of me wants to cry, in many ways, for the this trapped creative soul. But the other part of me draws great strength from Anne's views and insights. If I have learnt anything from her diary it's that people however young, old, smart or not, are still living, loving creatures that are capable of deep thoughts and feelings that we can't see unless we have a window into their mind. And that a true creative soul cannot be trapped.

From class 16 at Linden Lodge. We have just completed listening and watching the film of Anne Frank. It was very moving and at parts it was funny, sad, scary, romantic, amazing and fantastic. The work of Anne has inspired us all to become a better writer, we will use our Braille, Moon computer and print skills to write our own diaries. From the students of class 16, Emmanuel, Pearl, Furkan, Aminah, Meg, Myshka and Joe.
