Photos of the young Edith
Edith (second from the left) and her brother Walter with two unknown friends at the seaside.
The photos on this page were taken between 1915 and 1922. They show a young, carefree Edith. The photos have survived thanks to Irene Holländer, Edith’s cousin and good friend. She fled from the Nazis in 1937 and emigrated to Peru, taking her photos with her.
Eduardo Fraifeld, Irene’s grandson, has recently passed on the photos to the Anne Frank House on long-term loan.
