Ellen Hooghiemstra, Creative Director LBi Lost Boys: “We are very proud of this international recognition. This award confirms the strength of the Secret Annex Online’s total experience. We have been successful in keeping alive the memory of Anne Frank in a unique way.”

The Secret Annex Online

The Secret Annex Online  is a virtual version of the building on the Prinsengracht 263 in Amsterdam, where Anne Frank wrote her now world famous diary while in hiding for almost 2 years during the Second World War. Anne Frank was one of 6 million who did not survive the horrors of the concentration camps.

During its launch in April 2010 the Secret Annex Online received immediate attention from both national and international press. Since then more than 850.000 people have visited the website staying on average for 17(!) minutes.

Secret Annex Online has also won an Adobe Max Award, a European Mixx Award and a prestigious Webby Award. LBi Lost Boys and the Anne Frank House developed the Secret Annex Online in close cooperation.
