The Nightwatch painting is moved as precautionary measure
The picture is first moved from the Rijksmuseum to Castle Radboud in Medemblik where it is taken out of its frame and rolled up. From here it is taken to a bunker in Castricum where other works of art are stored. In April 1942 it is moved via Heemskerk to the Sint Petersberg (a small mountain) near Maastricht where it stays until the end of the war.
