SD Officer Herbert Oelschlägel is assasinated
Oelschlägel is responsible for the arrest of a large number of members of the resistance. He infiltrated the resistance and forms a serious threat. Gangs intend to abduct him to find out who his informants are. They follow him but on the corner of the Beethovenstraat and the Appollollaan Oelschlägel realizes he’s being followed. Fighting starts and Oelschlägel is shot in the head.
As a reprisal measure two houses are set on fire and 29 men are executed. Passers-by are forced to watch.
