We were very close
My brother and I
Having fun together
Never thinking of saying goodbye

Walking together to school
Like we always do
The patch on our coats
Shows that we're Jews

We lived in the ghetto
For nearly a year
One day they came
They filled us with fear

They loaded us all in
We were packed really tight
We clung onto each other
We prayed with all our might

Seven days later
We were taken off the truck
I guess this was the end
We ran out of luck...

We walked a little
Until we came to a stop
The place was called Auschwitz
The camp was top of the top

We formed a long line
A selection took place
My brother clung onto me
I wiped the tears off his face

When we got to the end
We held each other tight
But it didn't work because
He went left and I went right...
