None

Oct. 10, 2022 — Little Amal, a lifelike 4-meter high doll of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee, is walking from Dam Square to the Anne Frank House today.

Near the statue of Anne Frank on the Westermarkt, the life story of Anne, who was ten years old when the Second World War broke out in the Netherlands, will be remembered.

Little Amal walks through cities worldwide to raise awareness for the urgent needs of young refugees. Today Amal walks past the place where Anne Frank went into hiding and wrote her diary. Ronald Leopold, general director of the Anne Frank House, will hand over Anne's diary in Arabic to Amal.

Little Amal's visit to Amsterdam is made possible by The Walk and Bloomberg Philanthropies. The innovative art project The Walk sheds light worldwide on the experiences of hundreds of thousands of children who have fled violence in search of a more hopeful future.
