Support from the BankGiro Loterij

Annual contribution from the main Dutch culture lottery

Since 2007, the Anne Frank House has been a beneficiary of the BankGiro Loterij, the main Dutch culture lottery. Every year, the foundation receives a contribution of € 200,000.

Participants favour the Anne Frank House

Since 2012, participants in the BankGiro Loterij get to choose what organisation they want to play for. In 2017, this yielded an additional sum of € 33,728 for the foundation.

Extra contribution for renovation of museum

In 2015, the Anne Frank House received an additional gift of € 910,000 from the BankGiro Loterij for its project ‘The Anne Frank House is getting ready for a new generation’.

70 years after the end of the Second World War, young visitors in particular often lack the knowledge about the war and the persecution of the Jews they need in order to understand and experience the story of Anne Frank and the other people in hiding. This requires a new approach to help the museum communicate this part of history to future generations. The extra contribution allows us to do this.

‘Over the next few years, we hope to welcome many participants in the BankGiro Loterij to the renovated museum.’
